About Me.

My Story

I was a sporty kid growing up, spending more time playing sport than I did doing homework. My favourite activities were martial arts and rugby. When I left school, I fell into depression and anxiety, gained 30 kgs and feeling horrible about myself. It wasn’t until I saw myself in the video where I proposed to my fiancée when I realised how much weight I had gained. I was so ashamed by my appearance that I decided to make a change. I started only eating rice, chicken and vegetables, and drinking only protein shakes and water. I worked out 6 times a week often 2 times a day trying to look like the men I saw in fitness magazines.

I got my personal training certificate and went on with that mentality for years. I train in Kyokushin karate and won state and national level tournaments, often times missing out on time with my family to train. It wasn’t until I was riddled with injuries from over training that I realised my outlook on training was all wrong for me. You don’t need to be the strongest person in the gym, the biggest guy or the slimmest girl. You just have to try and be the best you that you can be. Don’t limit yourself by thinking you have to fit in a mould and instead be healthy and proud of what YOU accomplished.
